Chisinau, Moldova, 10 September 2026 – Representative of the Metamorphosis Foundation conducted individual monitoring meetings with six organizations supported through the Digital Spark Grant Call in Moldova. The meetings were hosted at the premises of the Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Chisunau and provided an opportunity to review the progress of supported projects, discuss ongoing activities and exchange ideas about the further development of digital tools designed to strengthen digital democracy and civic participation and engagement in Moldova.
The monitoring meetings provided an important opportunity for the Metamorphosis Foundation and Digital Spark partners to jointly assess project implementation, discuss achievements and challenges, and identify priorities for the next stages of project implementation. The diversity of supported initiatives demonstrates how digital tools can respond to concrete community needs and create new opportunities for participation, transparency and interaction with public institutions.

One of the supported initiatives focuses on the development of 25 short videos in a storytelling format, created with the participation of selected young people from Chișinău. Through these videos, young people will highlight issues that directly affect them, communicate their needs and priorities, and advocate for stronger and more effective institutional responses to youth-related challenges.
Digital Spark partners are also developing solutions aimed at improving participatory budgeting and encouraging citizen involvement in planning and decision-making at the local level. These activities seek to provide citizens with more accessible opportunities to participate in discussions about community priorities and the allocation of local public resources.
In the municipality of Florești in northern Moldova, activities are focused on strengthening youth participation in local decision-making processes on issues that directly affect young people. The initiative seeks to create more accessible opportunities for young people to communicate their priorities, participate in local consultations in the Municipal Council and contribute to decisions concerning the development of their communities.
Another initiative is developing a Youth Civic Lab, a digital mechanism designed to monitor public consultations relevant to young people and transform complex information into clear, accessible and youth-friendly content within 72 hours. By making information about public consultations easier to understand and access, the initiative aims to encourage more young people to follow local decision-making processes and actively participate in them.
Digital Spark support is also contributing to the development of a digital platform dedicated to informing and educating farmers across Moldova, with a particular focus on women farmers, young entrepreneurs’ farmers and small-scale farmers. The platform aims to improve access to relevant information, educational resources and opportunities that can help farmers strengthen their knowledge, develop their businesses and enhance their entrepreneurial capacities.
Another important area of work is strengthening citizens’ digital skills and their ability to access and use e-services provided by public institutions in Moldova. Through targeted training activities, participants improved their practical skills in navigating digital platforms and accessing public services online, contributing to greater digital inclusion and more effective interaction between citizens and public institutions.

The meetings also reinforced the regional cooperation at the core of the Regional Support Mechanism EECA, connecting organizations across Eastern Europe and Central Asia that are advancing digital rights, civic participation, and democratic resilience through collaborative action and knowledge-sharing.
The visits were conducted as part of the Regional Support Mechanism EECA project, implemented by Metamorphosis Foundation and TechSoup, in partnership with CIVICUS and under the Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI) that covers the Global South.
